This spider belongs to a group of jumping spiders with flattened bodies, which allows them to fit into small cracks and crevices. The compulsion to have both the top and bottom surfaces of the body in contact with a solid object is known as thigmotaxis. This species can often be found on man-made structures which provide suitable retreats, like wooden fences and decks.
