Blue duck (17/35)

The rare and endangered blue duck is possibly the most unusual of all ducks. Found only in New Zealand, it has no close relatives and is the only insectivorous duck that lives on fast-flowing rivers. Most active around dawn and dusk, this individual rests in a spot of weak winter sunlight.
