Parallel pest fences along a vehicle track allows access between separate areas of pest-free native forest. This fence is designed to prevent reinvasion by any of the introduced mammals in New Zealand, from house mice to deer. However, such fences are never completely pest 'proof', as damage to the fence can allow pest mammals to enter, but these breaches are quickly identified and eliminated.
