Black-fronted tern (1/3)

Black-fronted terns are threatened by introduced mammals, including mustelids, cats and hedgehogs. Hydroelectric development endangers them by modifying the braided rivers they inhabit. Weeds are able to invade naturally bare shingle, reducing the area suitable for nesting and providing predators with cover.
