Smooth blue aster (272/2613)

Smooth blue aster is an exotic species grown in gardens for it's attractive flowers. So far it has only been found growing wild in New Zealand a handful of times, but many invasive weeds start just like this, apparently restricted to gardens for decades before they become naturalised problems. This plant was photographed near a busy road, so was probably introduced to this location as dumped garden waste.
