I recently spent a great couple of days photographing shorebirds at Opoutere in the Coromandel Peninsular. Although it was still early in the season, some of the New Zealand dotterels were in stunning red breeding plumage and I witnessed courtship displays that I have not seen before. NZ dotterels are one of my favourite photo subjects and I’ve just uploaded some new photos of them from this trip.
