On the 25th of November 2010, at the end of a long and unproductive day, I arrived at the Te Paki sand dunes just an hour before sunset. I was immediately struck by the size and beautiful lines of the giant dunes. The sky was filled with dark clouds so I quickly grabbed some gear and headed off into the sand, while a strong westerly wind did its best to fill my clothes and eyes with grit.
I ran around until it was almost too dark to see, doing my best to capture what I saw of the stunning patterns in in the sand and the contrasting dark sky. I came away with many pleasing images, and I have now added a selection of them to the coast section of my landscape gallery. Check them out in the new photos section
